About this house

Eternal Haven is the public writing and publishing room of Justin Helmer — also Excavationpro on the music side, Lightfather when the systems work needs a steward name. The site exists so a stranger can read, listen, or play without making an account.

Who writes here

I am Justin Helmer. I write long fantasy, record original music, and keep a small set of free tools on the open web. I do not run a newsroom. I do not scrape other people’s essays and wrap them in a theme. If a page on this domain has my name on it, I wrote it, or I built the tool it describes, or both.

The books are the Eternal Haven saga: moonlit openings, broken accords, wars of ascent, and a dawn that does not pretend the night was cheap. The music is under Excavationpro — hip hop, experimental, electronic, and the slower rooms I call blues when the year turns. The games are HTML5: golf, marines, swarm, cards, a board of markets. They live in the browser. They do not ask for a login.

Lightfather is not a costume I put on to sell a course. It is the steward name I use when I am responsible for ledgers, hashes, and the rule that a public page must not invent a source it did not fetch. If that sentence is too much, skip it. Read a chapter. Play a hole. Leave.

What this site is for

Feeds are weather. Sites are houses. I wrote that at length in The lantern is still on. Eternal Haven is the house. It has a library of essays, a shelf of books, a listen door, a games hall, and a quieter hallway of systems for people who already live here. The homepage is supposed to be readable. The dense map is the hub, on purpose, so a first visitor is not drowned in directories.

Google’s publisher network wants unique writing and a good visit. I want that too, because a thin page is a broken lantern. If you came from a search, you should be able to sit with a full essay, a book introduction, or a music note that did not exist anywhere else. Link farms are weather pretending to be architecture. I would rather own the mess.

How money works

Guides, essays, the listen portal, and the games are free. Hosting is not. Optional support is PayPal.me/ExcavationPro and Patreon / Excavationpro. Advertisements, when the network allows them, sit in the essays the way a small card sits in a magazine: after you have already been given something to read. A tip does not buy a different story. An ad does not unlock a secret chapter.

I do not sell your email. There is no newsletter gate. Contact is on the contact page. Privacy is on the privacy page. Those pages are part of the house, not afterthoughts.

What I will not do here

I will not invent a catalog hit I did not ship. I will not paint a public globe with private interiors. I will not ask you to perform a like before you are allowed to lurk. I will not copy another publisher’s article and swap the title. If a tool is unfinished, the honest sentence is that it is unfinished. Empty beats fake.

I also will not pretend a systems page is an essay. Software maps belong in the hub. Stories belong in the library. Mixing them until a crawler cannot tell a book from a dashboard is how a house becomes a mall. This rebuild is me putting the furniture back.

Elsewhere, still me

Music streams: asiancoastline.com/listen.html (primary) and the Excavationpro listen backup. DSP hub: ffm.to/eovnvo9. Artist: excavationpro.ca. Tempo tool: bpmfinder.ca. I keep those doors labeled so you know which room you are in.

If you only remember one thing: a stranger should be able to arrive at midnight, read a page, and leave without a speech. That is the whole hospitality rule. The lantern is still on.
